Man 'Critical' Following Shooting In Co L'Derry

A man is in a critical condition in hospital after he was shot twice in the leg in Co L'Derry.

The attack happened in Magowan Park shortly after 9pm on Monday.

The man is being treated in hospital for two gunshot wounds to his right leg.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Sinn Fein MLA Maeve McLaughlin said:Ms McLaughlin said: "The perpetrators of this attack have nothing to offer but fear and intimidation.

"These attacks have been rejected by our communities and they have no place in the new Ireland we are trying to build. 

"Our thoughts are obviously with the man who has been injured and his family and I would urge anyone with any information to bring it to the PSNI immediately."

Man Shot In County Down
A 28-year-old man has been shot in the leg in a gun attack in County Down. The man was getting out of his car at the Quays in Killyleagh at about 1.00am on Wednesday morning when a man approached him and shot him. The man is recovering in hospital where his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Health Minister To Seek Deferral Of All Hospital Parking Charges
Health Minister, Robin Swann, has announced that he will seek a deferral to legislation to remove all hospital parking charges from 12 May, 2024. Minister Swann said that he will ask the Assembly to defer the measure for a two year period.
