Over 600 Polling Stations Open Across NI

Over 600 polling stations opened across Northern Ireland today, 23 June, for voters to decide whether the UK should remain a member of the European Union or leave.

The polling stations opened at 7am and will close at 10pm.

Voters are required to put an 'X' in either the Remain or Leave boxes.

Voters will have to provide a form of photographic identity in order to cast their vote.

A result is expected in the early hours of Friday morning.

Two Men Arrested Following Assault In Armagh
Two men have been arrested in connection with an assault in Armagh on Tuesday, 16 January. Shortly after 2.20pm, it was reported to police that a man, aged in his 50s, has been assaulted in a house in the Ballynahone Crescent area. Officers attended and arrested two men, aged 40 and 53, on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.

Man Arrested For Headbutting Female Police Officer
A 22-year-old man has been arrested in Newry for assaulting a police officer. While responding to a domestic related report, a local female officer was headbutted to the head, which caused swelling and bruising. The officer was seen by medical staff and her injuries were not more serious and she felt well enough to remain on duty.

NI Polling Stations Open
Polling stations for the Westminster election have opened across Northern Ireland. NI voters will be able to select from a total of 18 MPs until 10pm tonight, Thursday. The overnight count will take place in eight different locations and the first results are expected at around 2am on Friday.
