Foster And McGuinness To Attend British-Irish Council Meeting

NI's First Minister and deputy First Minister are to attend a meeting of the British-Irish Council (BIC) in Wales to discuss the implications of Britain leaving the European Union (EU).

Arlene Foster and Martin McGuinness will travel to Cardiff today, 22 July, to take part in talks with representatives from the UK and the Republic of Ireland.

Welsh First Minister Carwyn Jones is hosting the meeting.

The new Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, James Brokenshire, is also attending as well as Taoiseach End Kenny.

Deputy First Minister To Attend British-Irish Council
Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness and Finance Minister Simon Hamilton are to join UK and Irish leaders on the Isle of Man for a meeting of the British-Irish Council. The council was established as part of the Good Friday Agreement and involves representatives from Ireland and all of the UK's devolved administrations.
