Man Convicted Of Benefit Fraud
A man has been convicted for claiming benefits he was not entitled to at Londonderry Magistrates' Court.
Alexander Duffy claimed Job Seeker's Allowance and Housing Benefit totalling £6,936 while failing to declare employment. He was given 240 hours Community Service.
He is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Department for Communities.
Summer Camp Opens At College In South Belfast
A summer camp has officially opened at an integrated college in south Belfast.
Camp Camilla Summer Camp at Lagan College is an American style summer camp designed to bring together children and young people from integrated schools across Northern Ireland and visiting students from the USA.
The camp, now in its second year, is being held from 8-12 August at Lagan College, Belfast with young people attending from integrated schools across Northern Ireland and from the Youth Division of the First Presbyterian Church in Dallas, Texas. The camp offers a range of organised activities including Art, Dance, Drama, Music, Basketball, Golf, Soccer and Tennis.
Cllr Martin Expresses Sympathy After Woman Dies In Co Down Collision
Alliance Councillor Stephen Martin has expressed sympathy after a woman in her 60s died in a collision between a car and a coach in County Down.
Mr Martin said: "It is extremely sad to hear of another life being lost unnecessarily on our roads.
"My thoughts are with the victim's family and friends as they come to terms with their tragic loss."
