Investigation Launched Following Aggravated Burglary In Co L'Derry

Police have launched an investigation following an aggravated burglary in Kilrea, Co L'Derry.

Two men, armed with a suspected firearm, entered the house in the Larchfield Gardens area at around 8am on Friday, 02 September.

The suspects tied a man up and made off with a number of legal guns.

It is believed they made off in a small white van in the direction of Moneydig Road.

The man was uninjured but was left badly shaken.

Sinn Féin MLA Caoimhe Archibald said: "Reports of this incident in Kilrea of a man being tied up in his own home and legally held firearms being stolen are disturbing.

"This will have been a terrifying experience for those involved and they have no doubt been left shaken by the experience.

"I would urge anyone with information on the incident to bring it forward to the PSNI."
