Man Dies On Construction Site In Co Down

A man has died on a building site in Warrenpoint, Co Down.

The Health and Safety Executive for Northern Ireland (HSENI) has been informed.

In a statement HSENI said: "Inspectors from HSENI attended the scene immediately and investigations into the incident are ongoing.

"Our sympathies and thoughts are with the bereaved family at this very difficult time."

Sinn Féin MLA Caitríona Ruane said: "The death of a young man in an incident at a building site in Warrenpoint has caused shock and sadness in the local community.

"My thoughts and sympathies are with the family and friends of this young man at this sad and difficult time."

Man Jailed For Manslaughter Of David James Conville
A 31-year-old man has been jailed at Belfast Crown Court for the manslaughter of David James Conville in south Belfast in May, 2022. Edward Kelly was sentenced to serve three-and-a-half years, half of his sentence will be served in custody and half will be served on licence, following his guilty plea last November.
