Product Design Workshop Announced By Invest NI

Invest NI has announced a free product design workshop to be held in December, aimed at helping businesses learn about successful product design.

In the second of their series of Design Workshops, participants will hear how companies are using design strategically to drive new product development, create compelling customer experiences and increase their potential to win new business.

The workshop will focus on:

• key elements of new product development and product evolution

• driving value from effective product design

• ways of reducing business costs

• case study examples of successful product design

The workshop will offer opportunities to talk to design professionals about making design work for business.

Invest NI staff will also be available to explain Innovation Vouchers, intellectual property and other support options that could help move businesses forward.

The workshop will take place on Tuesday, 6 December 2016, at the MAC in Belfast.

Black Friday: NI Shoppers Among Highest UK Spenders
Shoppers in Northern Ireland are the UK's second-highest spenders on Black Friday, according to research from PwC. As bargain hunters take to the shops, they are planning to spend around 35% more than last year, an average of £183. The average increase across the UK is 11% or £224.

A mentoring support programme has launched to assist tourism businesses in the Fermanagh and Omagh areas. Fermanagh and Omagh district council is to run the Tourism Excellence Programme for the benefit of 20 firms in the local area.
