Weather Warning For Heavy Rain Issued Across NI

A yellow weather warning for heavy rain has been issued across Northern Ireland.

The warning has been put in place from 10pm on Wednesday, 22 February, until 2pm on Thursday, 23 February.

The Met Office said the rain could bring flooding issues and driving conditions may be difficult.

Periods of snowfall are also expected over higher ground.

A Met Office spokesperson said: "Later on Thursday morning, gale force winds are expected as the system clears to the east. Please be aware of the potential for some travel disruption, localised flooding and surface spray."

The Met Office has issued a Yellow weather warning for heavy rain expected across the east of Northern Ireland on Thursday morning. The forecaster said that heavy rain is expected from around 5am on Thursday, affecting Counties Antrim, Armagh and Down. The Met Office warned that heavy rain may bring localised flooding and some travel disruption.
