Man Arrested Over George Gilmore Murder

Police have arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with the murder of loyalist George Gilmore.

Mr Gilmore, aged 44, was shot in the neck in Carrickfergus on Monday, 13 March.

He died from his injuries in hospital the following day, 14 March.

A 32-year-old man arrested on Sunday, 19 March, has been released.

Brian Roy McLean, 35, and Samuel David McMaw, 28, appeared at Laganside Court on Saturday, 18 March. They were jointly charged with a number of offences including murder and attempted murder and have been remanded in custody.

22-Year-Old Charged In Connection With L'Derry Shooting Incident
A 22-year-old man will appear before Dungannon Magistrates' Court charged in connection with a shooting incident in Co L'Derry. On Friday 09 March, 2018, a man was found in a car on the Cairndaisy Road with a gunshot wound to his head. He is continuing to be treated for his injury.

Belfast man pleads guilty to attempted murder charge
A Belfast man charged with attempted murder has pleaded guilty at court today. Gerard Donegan last week apologised for attacking Maurice McCracken in March 2003 with a hammer. The resulting injuries left the 56-year-old man severely brain damaged and unable to walk.
