Body Discovered On Banks Of River Foyle

A body has been discovered on the banks of the River Foyle.

The unidentified body was found on Tuesday, 18 April, the PSNI have confirmed.

A post mortem will be carried out to determine the cause of death.

No other details have been released.

Suspected Class A drugs disguised as a sweet resembling a popular children's TV character have been discovered by officers on patrol in Newry. While following up on a male suspected to have connections to the growth of cannabis, members of the District Support Team found the drugs on Monday 12 August.

A woman's body has been recovered from the River Foyle in L'Derry. It was discovered on Thursday afternoon flowing an extensive search by the Foyle Search & Rescue Team, assisted by the Sligo Coastguard. Enquiries are ongoing to identify the body.

Man's body pulled from River Foyle
Police are investigating the death of a man whose body was recovered from the River Foyle in Londonderry today. The young man's body was recovered at around lunchtime by a Foyle Search and Rescue team. A crime is not suspected at this stage.

Three PSNI Officers Injured In Taxi Attack
Three police officers have been injured after coming under attack while trying to assist a taxi passenger over the weekend in Magherafelt. The incident occurred on Rainey Street in the early hours of Sunday morning, 12 May, when a taxi driver flagged down a police vehicle for help dealing with a drunk passenger.
