Police renew Donaghcloney shooting appeal

Police have renewed their appeal for information following the attempted murder of a man in Co Down last week.

The man, who is in his 30's, was shot a number of times after he was called to the front door of his Clover Brae home in Donaghcloney by his partner. The victim managed to make his way to a neighbour's house to seek help.

Loyalist paramilitaries are thought to have been behind the attack.

Police on Tuesday handed out leaflets with pictures of a car similar to one seen leaving the area following the attack.

The dark coloured vehicle was later found burnt out at the Ballymoney Road in Banbridge.

The man's attacker is described as being in his 30s, with an English accent, of stocky build and had a beard or a moustache. He was wearing a woollen hat, jeans, a white T-shirt and a jacket.
