NI Power Sharing Talks To Be Suspended Over Summer

Power sharing talks in Northern Ireland are expected to be suspended for the summer.

Discussions were continuing at Stormont today, 04 July, however an agreement has not been reached.

NI Secretary of State, James Brokenshire, extended the deadline on Monday, 03 July, and said an agreement is still "achievable".

Irish Foreign Affairs Minister Simon Coveney returned to Belfast today, however he cancelled a scheduled press conference.

The DUP and Sinn Fein cannot agree over an Irish language act and same-sex marriage.
