Teenage Girl Struck By Brick At West Belfast Train Station

Police are appealing for information after a teenage girl was assaulted at a train station in west Belfast.

The incident occurred at Dunmurry Halt between 10pm – 10.15pm on Saturday, 08 July.

The victim was waiting for a train with her friend when an unknown person threw either a rock or a brick at her, striking her in the face.

Her injuries included fractures to her eye socket and there is the possibility of further damage to her eye.

PSNI West Belfast said: "If you have any information which may help us locate the person responsible for this, please contact us on 101 and quote reference number 1525 08/07/17."

Heavy Snow Closes Over 80 Schools
Over 80 schools across Northern Ireland have been closed as the heavy snow continues to cause disruption on Tuesday morning. Warning Signs To Be Installed To Prevent Use Of Scramblers
Warning signs are to be installed across west Belfast to warn against the use of off-road vehicles being used in parks and public spaces. Police will also patrol hotspot areas to disrupt the dangerous, illegal activity and identify the people involved. The scheme has been launched by the West Belfast DPCSP and the PSNI.

UDA bomb move 'not an act of decommissioning'
Police last night discovered 18 pipe bombs on playing fields at Somerdale Park in the Crumlin Road area of north Belfast. The Ulster Defence Association (UDA) claimed it left the devices in the playing fields "as part of the ongoing steps to stabilise and normalise loyalist west Belfast".

Joe Reilly Murder: Man Arrested
A 51-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Joe Reilly. Mr Reilly, 43, was shot at his home in the Glenwood Court area of Poleglass, west Belfast, on 20 October. The suspect was arrested on Monday, 19 December, and has been taken to Musgrave Police station to be questioned.

Up To 20 Involved In Fight At Ballymoney Train Station
Police are appealing for information following a fight at a Balleymoney Train Station in County Antrim. Up to 20 people were reportedly fighting on a train in the Seymour Street area at around 9.45pm on Saturday. A glass bottle was thrown and smashed and a 14-year-old boy who was injured was taken to hospital.
