Witnesses Sought To Suspected Kidnapping In Coleraine

Police have issued an appeal for information into a suspected kidnapping in Coleraine on Sunday 27 August.

A man was allegedly forced into the boot of a car at about 10.30pm when a red Audi car pulled up alongside him on Brook Street.

It is understood that there was a number of people in the car, which is said to have sped off in the direction of Union Street.

Police have appealed for help in identifying the vehicle and those involved. Anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have witnessed the incident is urged to contact police.

Armed Robber Dresses As Police Officer
Police are searching for two men in connection with the attempted armed robbery of a shop in Co Armagh. Police said that one of the men who attempted to rob the shop on West Street, Portadown, was dressed as a policeman. It is understood two men entered the shop at about 10am on Thursday, one of them was carrying a suspected firearm.

Tennent Street Bomb Alert Over
A security alert in north Belfast sparked by the discovery of a suspicious object under a car has been declared a hoax. Army bomb experts examined the suspicious package which was found underneath a car close to Tennent Street police station on Monday after several homes were evacuated during the alert.

Six police officers have been injured following a creeper burglary in Newtownabbey, Co Antrim. A stolen car rammed into three police vehicles during a pursuit. Four teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary and two of them are also suspected of motoring offences.

Two police officers have been disciplined after driving at 81mph through a 30mph zone in the village of Claudy in an unmarked police vehicle with no sirens or flashing lights activated, after chasing another car, following a Police Ombudsman investigation.
