Man Arrested After Cars Damaged In South Belfast

A man has been arrested after reports of vehicles being damaged in south Belfast.

Four cars were damaged in University Avenue, Dudley Street, the Cloisters and Rugby Avenue on Thursday, 31 August.

A 25-year-old man has been arrested and is helping police with their enquiries.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

The most fortified police stations in Northern Ireland should close, a review into policing in South Armagh has recommended. PSNI Chief Constable Simon Byrne will meet today today, Tuesday 31 August, with representatives of the local community in South Armagh to discuss the findings of a comprehensive report into policing in the local area.

12 Arrests Made In Ongoing Anti-Social Behaviour In The Holylands
A total of 12 people have now been arrested this week during ongoing anti-social behaviour in the Holyland's area of south Belfast. Police have said that large numbers of young people from across the city and further afield have continued to gather in the Holylands on a nightly basis.

New Lagan Gateway Bridge Opens
A new pedestrian and cyclist bridge connecting Lagan Towpath to Annadale Embankment at Stranmillis in Belfast has opened. The 83-metre bridge is one of the key elements of the £5.2 million Lagan Gateway project.
