Three People Arrested Over Criminal Activity Linked To The UVF

Three people have been arrested as part of ongoing investigations into criminal activity linked to the UVF in north Belfast.

The PSNI's Criminal Investigation branch carried out a total of seven searches on Monday, 11 September.

A man and woman were detained in Newtownabbey and a 56-year-old man was arrested in north Belfast.

They are all being questioned at Musgrave Police Station.

Three Arrested Over 1994 UVF Murders
Three men have been arrested by detectives investigating the murder of two Catholic workmen almost 20 years ago. In May 1994, Gary Convie, 24, and 44-year-old Eamon Fox were sitting in their car at a building site in North Queen Street, Belfast, when a gunman opened fire. The two men were shot dead by the Ulster Volunteer Force (UVF).

Teenagers Arrested After Disorder In New Lodge
Two teenagers have been arrested following various incidents of anti-social behaviour in the New Lodge area of north Belfast. Police have released a statement warning youths of their behaviour and assuring residents they are allocating extra resources to the north of the city.
