Man Charged Over Attempted Murder In Larne

A third man has been charged with attempted murder after a house was attacked in Larne.

Shots were fired at the property in the Brustin Brae Road area and a car was set alight outside on Monday, 11 September.

The suspect faces a number of charges including carrying a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence, hijacking, aggravated burglary and driving away.

The 24-year-old man is to appear before Ballymena Magistrates' Court today, Wednesday, 20 September.

Seven Charged With Strickland Murder
A fourth man has been charged with the murder of Phillip Strickland in Comber last week, bringing the total to seven. The 36-year-old was found in a car on Quarry Road, off the Ballydrain Road, near Comber on Wednesday last. He had been shot several times and was declared dead in hospital a short time later.

Man arrested over Electoral Office fraud
A 58-year-old man from Co Tyrone has been arrested and charged following a police investigation into irregularities at an Electoral Office in the west of the province. The man was charged with 30 offences, 17 of which relate to theft and 13 of fake accounting. He will appear before a court in Omagh on November 11.

Accused man claimed he 'did not mean to kill wife'
A civilian PSNI employee has appeared before Ballymena Magistrates Court in Co Antrim today accused of murdering his wife. The court heard that when charged yesterday 46-year-old Adrian Baird of Loughloughlan Road in Broughshane said that he "did not mean to kill his wife".
