Two Men Attacked During Aggravated Burglary In Co Down

Two men have been injured after being attacked during an aggravated burglary in Newtownards, Co Down.

A number of masked men, armed with weapons, attacked a house in the Shackleton Walk area at around 9.40pm on Thursday, 16 November.

Two men, who were in the property at the time, were assaulted in what police described as a "savage attack".

One man sustained an injury to his arm and the second man suffered an injury to his wrist.

Two vehicles parked nearby were also damaged.

Elsewhere, two men have been arrested in connection with a hijacking in Newtownabbey, Co Antrim.

A Vauxhall Corsa was stolen from a woman in the Grays Lane area by two men at around 8am on Friday, 17 November.

They made off in the vehicle in the direction of the Shore Road, and it was later discovered on the Lylehill Road in Templepatrick.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

A woman and her son have escaped injury following a shooting attack in Co Armagh. Shots were fired at a property in the Cloghoge Road area of Cullyhanna on Wednesday, 21 February. Windows were broken in the living room, kitchen and sitting room areas. The woman and child were inside the property at the time of the attack.

Police Appeal After Man Attacked In Co Antrim
Police are appealing for information after a man was attacked in Ballymena, Co Antrim. The assault happened in the North Road area at around 3.30am on Sunday, 29 January. A gang of four or five men attacked the victim, aged 37. He was taken to hospital where his condition has been described as "serious".

Man Seriously Assaulted In Co Antrim
A 25-year-old man has been seriously attacked in Co Antrim. The assault occurred in the Hampton Crescent area in Larne at around 12.35am on Saturday. Five masked men armed with baseball bats attacked the victim and he sustained fractures to his arm and leg. He is currently being treated in hospital.

A cyclist is in a critical condition after being found with a serious head injury in East Belfast. The 21-year-old man was discovered by a passing police patrol on Woodstock Link at around 8.30pm on Sunday, 17 June. Two men were injured in Belfast on Tuesday evening in a paramilitary-style attack. A police spokesperson said that three men wearing balaclavas attacked the two men with baseball bats in Ainsworth Street area in the north of the city on Tuesday at around 7.30pm.

Two men killed in road traffic accident
UPDATE: The two men killed in a road traffic accident in County Fermanagh have been named. Both men whi died in the crash were from Enniskillen, they were named as 35-year-old Eugene Moore of The Brook Enniskillen and 23-year-old Fergus Nolan of Cleenish Park Enniskillen. Police said that fatal accident occurred at 11.

An east Belfast politician has condemned an incident in the area that police are treating as sectarian during which a young girl suffered an arm injury. It took place at a house in Derwent Street on Monday and saw the young girl injured after a gang of men attacked a house with hammers.

Ambulance damaged in brick attack
A brick has been thrown through a window of an ambulance in Dunmurry. The incident happened at around 9.50pm on Wednesday. While the driver escaped injury, police condemned the attack saying it had the potential for more serious consequences. This is just the latest in a spate of attacks on ambulance crew in recent times.

The gang of seven or eight men, one of whom may have had a handgun, entered a house on Friday August 17 at Donegore Drive in Antrim and forced the seven occupants to lie on the floor.

Police fire shot in County Tyrone
Police have opened fire after a car drove through a checkpoint in County Tyrone earlier today. A shot was fired after two men, tried to knock an officer down in the St. Dympna's Road area of Dromore. The car is then believed to have made a U-turn and rammed into the police car twice.

Staff threatened in armed robbery in South Belfast
Police have appealed for information following an armed robbery in South Belfast last night. Two men, one armed with a handgun, entered an off-licence on the Upper Lisburn Road at around 8.25pm. The robbers approached members of staff and forced them to hand over an undisclosed sum of money before making their escape.
