Car Catches Fire On A1

A car caught fire on the A1 on Monday, 11 December, after the driver left a blanket on the engine.

The driver forgot to remove the blanket after placing it on the engine overnight.

PSNI Road Policing officers attended the scene and there were no reports of any injuries.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Thankfully nobody was hurt although the driver was more than a little embarrassed for the trouble caused. Please make sure your vehicle is safe to be driven before setting out on your journey."

Police Mock Alleged Drug Dealer After Raid
Thousands of pounds worth of illegal substances have been seized in Lurgan after an alleged dealer left their door open. Drugs and paraphernalia were discovered by police after a search in the Taghnevan area on the evening of Tuesday 30 October. Posting to Facebook, PSNI Craigavon said it had seized around £4,400 of "criminal gear".

Delivery Driver Threatened At Knifepoint In West Belfast
Police have launched an investigation after a delivery driver was threatened at knifepoint in west Belfast. The attack happened in the Ardcaoin area of Poleglass at around 9.30pm on Wednesday, 18 July. The suspects threatened the pizza delivery driver, assaulted him, stole a sum of cash and made off.
