Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Arson Released On Bail

A man arrested on suspicion of arson in Finaghy has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Two people were rescued from a blaze at a house in the area on Sunday, 07 January.

The fire was reported at around 2.30am and emergency services attended the scene.

A 32-year-old man and a woman in her 60s were rescued from the property.

They were treated for smoke inhalation in hospital.

Police Officers Set Upon In Lisburn
A man has been arrested following an incident in Lisburn that left two police officers covered in paint. The suspect was detained on suspicion of damaging his ankle tag by trying to cut it off and breaching his bail. He also allegedly threw a tin of white paint over the two officers and assaulted them, gouging one of their eyes in the process.

Pair Arrested Under Terrorism Act In Co Tyrone
The PSNI's Terrorism Investigation Unit has arrested two men in connection with an improvised explosive device that was left in Strabane in September. The 25 year-olds were detained under the Terrorism Act following a number of searches in the Co Tyrone town today, Tuesday 03 December.

£35k Cocaine Seized In Co L'Derry
Police have seized cocaine worth £35,000 in Co L'Derry. Officers from the District Support Team said three people were awoken from their sleep during searches in Magherafelt. The individuals were later arrested.

Man Arrested Over Sudden Death Of Baby
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the sudden death of a baby in Northern Ireland. A 31 year-old has been arrested after the 11 month-old passed away in Keady, Co Armagh. A post-mortem will be carried out to determine the cause of death.
