Scooter crash claims man's life

Police are appealing for information after a man died following a road traffic accident in west Belfast.

The man, who is in his 20's, was travelling on his scooter along the city-bound section of Shaw's Road when he mounted a pavement and crashed.

A passenger travelling with the victim was thrown from the scooter and is currently being treated in hospital.

The incident occurred at around 3am on Wednesday morning.

Detectives at Woodbourne police station have asked for anyone with information to contact them.

Woman And Child Knocked Down By Mobility Scooter
Police are seeking a woman on a mobility scooter who struck down a grandmother and a child in Co L'Derry. The incident happened on William Street at around 11.30am on Thursday. It is understood the woman and her grandson, who was in a pushchair, were knocked over as they stood on a footpath.

Man Arrested In Connection With Dromara Assault
A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a report of an assault at licenced premises at the Rathfriland Road area of Dromara. Detective Inspector Bell said: "Shortly before 10:10pm on Friday 15th December, it was reported that an altercation occurred at a bar in the area following three men refused entry to the premises.

Man Released On Bail Over Lurgan Murder
A man arrested in connection with a murder in Lurgan on Sunday, 06 August, has been released on bail pending further enquiries. The body of a man, aged 45, was discovered at a flat on Victoria Street. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Man Shot In County Down
A 28-year-old man has been shot in the leg in a gun attack in County Down. The man was getting out of his car at the Quays in Killyleagh at about 1.00am on Wednesday morning when a man approached him and shot him. The man is recovering in hospital where his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
