Man Convicted Of Benefit Fraud

A man has been convicted for claiming benefits he was not entitled to at Enniskillen Magistrates' Court.

John Curran claimed Jobseeker's Allowance and Rates totalling £3,669 while failing to declare employment. He was given 75 hours community service.

He is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Department for Communities.

Construction Work Complete On Resurfacing Project In Co Armagh

Construction work on a road resurfacing project is Co Armagh has been completed.

The £700,000 scheme in the A3 Mall West area was carried out by the Department for Infrastructure in conjunction with Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council.

It involved the strengthening and resurfacing of 600 metres of road and footways along with ancillary works.

Driver Licensing Services To Be Made Available Online

Alliance Infrastructure spokesperson Kellie Armstrong MLA has welcomed confirmation driver licensing services are to be made available online.

Drivers will now be able to renew their licence, change an address or order a duplicate licence online. The services are designed to be the first in a series of digital amenities being made available by the Driver and Vehicle Agency.

"This will make things much more convenient for drivers, which can only be welcomed," she said.

"This will bring us into line with the rest of the UK and we need to further streamline these processes to save people hassle and create quicker turnaround times."

Health Service Education And Training Places To Be Maintained At Same Level
The Health Minister Robin Swann has announced that health service education and training places for this year will be maintained at the same level as 2023/24. The Minister said he had hoped to announce an overall increase in places, but intensifying budgetary pressures have made that unachievable.

NI Businesses Lose Over £2m Following Online Crime
Firms in Northern Ireland lost over £2 million following online crime last year, according to new figures. Figures from Get Safe Online and Action Fraud show 247 cases were reported with total losses amounting to £2,152,343 between March 2015 and March 2016. However, police believe the overall losses could be higher.

Online Support For Adults with Depression Announced
A new online support service to help adults suffering with depression has been announced. Queen's University and AWARE, the national depression charity for Northern Ireland, made the announcement to mark World Health Day (Friday 7 April). Depression impacts one in four people in Northern Ireland.
