Man Found In Moneymore Sustained Gunshot Wound To His Head

A man found injured in Moneymore in L'Derry has sustained a gunshot wound to his head, according to the police.

The 22-year-old victim was discovered slumped in a vehicle in the Carndaisy Road area at around 9.50pm on Friday, 09 March.

He is currently being treated in hospital.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Two police drivers have been disciplined for driving at excessive speeds without justification in Tyrone in October 2016. Police believed the attack involved up to five people on the morning of Tuesday, 27 February. A 33-year-old man has been found with a gunshot wound to his left leg following a paramilitary style attack on Monday. The victim was found shortly after 8pm by ambulance crew in the Ballyduff Brae area of Newtownabbey.

The 22-year-old man who was shot in the head in Co Londonderry earlier this week has died. Darren Thompson, from Harkness Gardens in the Waterside, was found lying at the roadside in Woodburn Park on Wednesday morning with a bullet wound to the head.

The trial of the man accused of killing Short Strand man, Robert McCartney has heard that a single stomach wound killed the victim. Belfast Crown Court heard yesterday from the Deputy State Pathologist, Dr Alistair Bentley, who conducted a post mortem on Mr McCartney in February 2005.

A man has been found with a bullet wound to his head in Co Londonderry this morning. He was found lying at the roadside in Woodburn Park in the Waterside area of Londonderry at around 7.30am and was immediately taken to Altnagelvin Hospital where his condition has been described as "critical".

A man has been released after being arrested in connection with a stabbing incident in north Belfast. Three men sustained stab wounds at a house in the York Park area at in the early hours of Saturday, 25 November. Police attended the scene and found a man, aged in his 20's, with cuts to his head.

A man is being treated in hospital after being stabbed in the back of the head in the early hours of Tuesday morning. The 25-year-old victim was discovered at a flat in the Sandy Row area of south Belfast shortly before 4am. He was immediately taken to hospital were his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Teenager injured in shooting
A teenager has been taken to hospital with a gunshot wound to his left thigh following a paramilitary-style shooting in Newtownards last night. It is believed that the man was shot in the Westwinds estate shortly before 10pm. There are no further details at present. A man has been shot and six police officers injured after a ramraider went on the rampage in Newry in the early hours of this morning. Previous to the shooting, there were three ram raid incidents – the first of which occurred at a tool-hire premises in Carnbane Industrial Estate shortly after 1am.

Appeal Over Bangor Shooting
Detectives investigating a double shooting in Bangor on Monday 10 February are making an appeal for witnesses. Two men aged 24 and 33 were shot in their car in the Eastway area of the Whitehill estate at around 12:45. One of the men received a gunshot wound to his leg and the second sustained gunshot wounds to his chest.

Pensioner suffers head wound during burglary
A 75-year-old pensioner has suffered a head wound after he was struck with a frying pan during an aggravated burglary in east Belfast this morning. The pensioner was asleep in his Cregagh Park home when two men burst into his bedroom at around 4.30am. The men initially tried to suffocate the pensioner with a pillow before threatening to kill him.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.
