Two Arrested After Fatal Collision On Newry To Belfast Road

Two people have been arrested in connection with a fatal road traffic collision on the main Newry to Belfast road.

A man, aged in his 20s, was killed when his car was involved in a collision with another vehicle on the A1 between Banbridge and Dromore at about 11:30pm on Wednesday, 23 May.

The driver of the second car involved in the crash, a 32-year-old man, and the driver of a third vehicle, a 30-year-old woman, were both arrested at the scene on suspicion of a number of driving offences.

The road was closed for a number of hours overnight to allow for a forensic examination, but has since reopened.

A man has been arrested after a woman was killed in a crash in Co Armagh. The collision happened on the Newry Road just before 3.30am on Sunday. The 25-year-old male is being detained by police on a number of motoring offences. The road has been reopened.

Suspect Arrested Over Strabane Mortar Bomb
Detectives investigating the discovery of a mortar bomb pointed in the direction of a police station in County Tyrone have arrested a 33-year-old man. The improvised explosive device was found in the Church View area of Strabane on Saturday 07 September on a wall overlooking the station.
