Police Appeal For Information Following West Belfast Robbery

Police are appealing for information following a robbery on Glen Parade in West Belfast.

The incident occurred at around 11pm on Monday, 14 May.

On Facebook, PSNI West Belfast said: "The victim was robbed of a black leather handbag and a small quantity of cash.

"Police are interested to speak to two males wearing dark clothing seen running towards Milltown Cemetery at the time."

Police in west Belfast have appealed for information following an armed robbery yesterday evening. At around 7.15pm, a man armed with a knife entered a shop in the Stewartstown Road area of the city and threatened staff. The robber then jumped across the counter and filled a blue sports bag with cigarettes and an undisclosed sum of cash.

UDA bomb move 'not an act of decommissioning'
Police last night discovered 18 pipe bombs on playing fields at Somerdale Park in the Crumlin Road area of north Belfast. The Ulster Defence Association (UDA) claimed it left the devices in the playing fields "as part of the ongoing steps to stabilise and normalise loyalist west Belfast".

Two Pensioners Charged In Edward Gibson Murder Probe
Two pensioners have been charged over the murder of Edward Gibson in west Belfast last October. Mr Gibson, 28, died after being shot in the Clonfadden Crescent area on 24 October. The man, 68, and woman, 70, have been charged with assisting an offender and failing to provide information. They are due to appear in court on 04 November.

Heavy Snow Closes Over 80 Schools
Over 80 schools across Northern Ireland have been closed as the heavy snow continues to cause disruption on Tuesday morning. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning, as the snow is continuing to affect many roads. Areas which have been majorly disrupted include Lisburn, Castlereagh and Carryduff.

Police in west Belfast have appealed for information following the armed robbery of a bookmakers yesterday evening. Two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun, entered a shop on the Falls Road just before 6.30pm and demanded that staff hand over money. The robbers then made off with an undisclosed sum of cash.

Police in west Belfast have appealed for information following an armed robbery in a chemists shop yesterday afternoon. Two men, one armed with a handgun, entered the premises on Beechmount Avenue at around 1.30pm and demanded prescription drugs.

Man Shot In West Belfast
A man has been shot in a paramilitary-style shooting in west Belfast. The incident occurred in the Downfine Walk area on the evening of Wednesday 15 October. Just before 21:00 a man in his 20s was taken from a house by a group of masked men and brought to a green area, where he sustained a gunshot wound to his leg.

West Belfast Death 'Was Murder'
A weekend tragedy is now being investigated by the PSNI as a murder. The inquiry has been launched following the news that 55-year-old Seamus Holland was found badly injured in west Belfast on Sunday. The victim was lying on the floor of his home in Upton Court and had sustained injuries to the head and face.

Police in west Belfast have appealed for information after a number of shots were fired at a house yesterday evening. The incident happened at around 7.30pm, when a shotgun round was fired through the front door and into the hallway of a property in the Glenveagh Park area of the city. No was was injured during the attack.

Police in west Belfast have reissued their appeal for information in relation to the shooting of a teenager last weekend. The incident happened in the early hours of Saturday morning, when 18-year-old Conor Welding was approached by two men and shot in the Ard Na Va area of the Falls Road in west Belfast.

Women attacked with tar in west Belfast
Police are appealing for information after two women were attacked and covered in tar in their west Belfast home at the weekend. Three hooded men smashed the front windows of a house in Hopewell Crescent in the Shankill area at about 6.50pm on Sunday before entering the property and throwing a tar-like substance over the two women.

Police Use Of Tasers Was 'Lawful' And 'Necessary' - Report
Ten incidents in which police fired Tasers between July 2012 and June last year were "justified", a Police Ombudsman report has concluded. Dr Michael Maguire found that the use of Taser had on each occasion been lawful, proportionate and necessary given the risks faced by officers and the danger posed to members of the public.
