Grand Central Hotel Officially Opens In Belfast
Northern Ireland's newest hotel has officially opened its doors.
The former Windsor House has been transformed into a 23-storey tower which has been named the Grand Central Hotel Belfast.
The project from Hastings Hotels cost a total of £53 million.
Stephen Muldrum, General Manger of the hotel, said: "We are delighted to open the doors of the Grand Central Hotel and see the vision of our late Chairman, Sir William Hastings, be fully recognised. The Grand Central Hotel is a really unique proposition for Belfast.
"No detail has been overlooked and we are excited to bring a new era to the city. The teams have been working hard over recent weeks to get the hotel open on time and we are looking forward to welcoming our first guests from the prestigious Hosts Global Forum who are staying with us this week."
The hotel features a a ground floor café, a restaurant and a small plates cocktail lounge on the 23rd floor.

Northern Ireland's Infrastructure Minister, John O'Dowd, has welcomed "a new era for public transport" as he officially opens the largest transport hub on the island of Ireland, Belfast's Grand Central Station. Bus stands at the new world class transport hub become operational this week in the first phase of opening.

New Grand Secretary Of Orange Order Elected
A new Grand Secretary of the Orange Order has been elected. Rev Mervyn Gibson was appointed following a meeting of the Loyal Order's ruling body. The Belfast Orangeman and Presbyterian Minister succeeds Drew Nelson who passed away earlier this year.

Belfast City Centre Launches Free Festive Music Programme
Belfast City Council has announced a free festive programme throughout the city centre in the lead up to Christmas. As part of the initiative, local musical acts and bands will showcase their talents on the city's streets, providing free pop-up performances and gigs for shoppers and revellers at various outdoor locations on selected dates.

The principal contractors behind the Belfast Grand Central Station project, Farrans Sacyr Joint Venture (JV), have successfully concluded extensive construction works on Durham Street and Boyne Bridge Place. The completion of these major works has been achieved just in time for the city's busy festive period.
