Child And Five Adults Injured In Major North Belfast Collision

Six people, including a child, remain in hospital following a major collision on the Crumlin Road in Belfast.

Six cars, including a stolen vehicle, were involved in the crash at about 6.55pm close to the Ardoyne Shops on Tuesday, 03 July.

Five ambulances and an air ambulance attended the scene, where four men, a woman and a child where treated before being transferred by ambulance to hospitals across Belfast.

The Crumlin Road was closed for a number of hours while police forensic investigators examined the scene. The road has since reopened.

Police have said that a black Audi A1, that had been reported stolen from Thirlmere Gardens in the early hours of Sunday 01 July, was involved in the collision.

The Police Ombudsman's Office have been notified and are currently investigating the circumstances leading up to the collision.

A 23-year-old has been arrested following a collision with a cyclist in west Belfast on Sunday, 14 October. A male cyclist was taken to hospital to be treated for serious injuries after being struck by a car on the Glenside Road in Dunmury. The incident happened shortly before 8.

Flight Diverted After Engine Fire
A Flybe flight from Glasgow to George Best Belfast City Airport was diverted to Belfast International after one of its engines caught fire. An emergency was declared at the airport as the plane was diverted, with fire crews and ambulances sent to the runway. It is understood that the plane was able to land.
