Council Launches Corporate Plan
Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council has launched its Corporate Plan - 'Our plan for Growth and Connecting' in Hillsborough Castle to an invited audience of elected representatives, local businesses and partner organisations.
The Mayor, Councillor Uel Mackin, welcomed everyone and said: "I am pleased to be here in the stunning Throne Room in Hillsborough Castle for the launch of the Council’s Corporate Plan 2018-2022 and beyond. The setting for this morning’s event is significant for a number of reasons and I can’t think of a better place to launch our plan. The redevelopment work of the Castle and investment by the Council in the village will have a major positive impact and once it is fully re-opened we will have a tourist attraction like no other on the Island of Ireland. The Council is working hard to ensure that local businesses prepare for this boost to our economy."
Chairman of the Council's Corporate Services Committee, Councillor Nathan Anderson, commented: "Looking at the theme of our Corporate Plan 'Growth and Connecting' this truly reflects the overall vision of the Council. We are a strong entrepreneurial Council in every aspect and it is the ambition and the drive of our organisation that keeps us ahead of the game. We have set demanding targets over the next four years focusing on clear themes and we will achieve these. This plan is a roadmap of where we want to be and how we are going to get there. We must seize the opportunities presented to us and better ourselves and our community in any way we can. We must also do this with our core values respect, honesty, excellence, accountability, leadership, and equality at the forefront."
Representatives from SERC, Coca-Cola and Council officers also spoke about the Corporate Plan and what this means to their organisation or to them personally.

Chairman of Tourist Board appeals for peace
The Northern Ireland Tourist Board boss has issued a plea to the community at large to help and stop the damaging effects of violence on the streets of Northern Ireland. The Chairman of the Tourist Board Roy Bailie (OBE) made the call for peace at the company’s launch of their three year Draft Corporate Plan on Wednesday March 6.

Derry City and Strabane District Council's Go For It programme are celebrating a significant milestone after helping its 200th new local business to compile a business plan. Go For It is part funded by Invest Northern Ireland and the European Regional Development Fund under the Investment for Growth & Jobs Northern Ireland (2014-2020) Programme.

Council Consults On First Stage Of Local Development Plan
Belfast City Council is consulting on the first stage of the Local Development Plan (LDP) and the public are being urged to have their say. Once adopted, the LDP will be used to shape the city and inform decision making on planning applications until 2035.
