Two Men Arrested Following Police Pursuit In North Belfast

Two men have been arrested in connection with a police pursuit in North Belfast.

It is understood that the police pursuit began late on Saturday, 21 July following reports that a vehicle had been involved in a theft at a shop on the Oldpark Road.

The suspect vehicle was spotted by police just before midnight in the Ardoyne area and a pursuit began.

Police pursued the vehicle from the area towards the west of the city. A stinger was used to stop the vehicle on the Whitehall Road and two men were detained.

One of the men has been arrested for multiple driving offences and on suspicion of the theft. The second man was arrested on suspicion of the theft and for failing to appear at court.

Pair Arrested In Connection With North Belfast Disorder
Police probing recent disorder in the New Lodge area of north Belfast have made two arrests. The men, aged 19 and 50, were detained this morning, Thursday 03 October on suspicion of a range of offences, including riotous behaviour and possessing and throwing petrol bombs. Both remain remain in custody assisting police with enquiries.

Armed Men Rob Taxi In Ballymena
A taxi driver has been robbed at knifepoint in Ballymena, Co Antrim. Two men were collected by the taxi in the early hours of this morning, Tuesday 01 October, in the Cullybackey area before carrying out the robbery. Police said the incident, which left the driver badly shaken, was reported at around 12.30am. One man has been arrested.

Police Vehicle Contracts Arrest - Man Released
A 54-year-old member of police staff who was arrested in County Antrim as part of ongoing investigations into the awarding of vehicle contracts has been released. The man was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office and has been taken to a police station in Belfast for questioning.
