Mark Campbell Funeral Held In Ballyclare

The funeral has taken place of Matthew Campbell, who died after he was hit by a falling tree during Storm Ali.

Mr Campbell (24) was struck by a tree on Wednesday, 19 September, as he worked in Slieve Gullion Forest Park for Lagan Construction, on behalf of NI Water.

A funeral service for Mr Campbell was held on Monday, 24 September and he was buried in Ballyclare Cemetery.

Mr Campbell was due to marry his fiancée Robyn Newbury in August next year, and according to reports, Ms Newbury placed her wedding ring on Mr Campbell's finger during the funeral service.

Man Due In Court Over Craigavon Murder
A man charged with the murder of 25 year-old Nathan Gibson last week is due to appear in court. The 40 year-old will appear before Lisburn Magistrates' Court today, Monday 20 January. Mr Gibson was discovered in the Lake Road area of Craigavon late on Thursday 16 January. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A search for the new PSNI second-in-command will soon begin after Deputy Chief Constable Stephen Martin announced his retirement. Mr Martin informed the Policing Board of his decision on Monday 20 January after almost 34 years of service.

Eight Sentenced Over Christopher Meli Death
Eight young people have been sentenced for offences connected to the death of Christopher Meli in 2015. Six defendants avoided jail while two were handed custodial sentences at Laganside Crown Court on Thursday 16 January. The west Belfast man died in December 2015, aged 20, after he was beaten in the Twinbrook area.

JustPark Takes Over Cashless Parking
Drivers who use on-street parking across Northern Ireland are advised that the cashless parking service provider has changed. JustPark took over the service in Belfast, Lisburn and Newry from previous provider Parkmobile earlier this month, in a move hoped to half the transaction fee for each parking session.

Funeral Of Popular NI Broadcaster Open To The Public
A funeral service for popular local broadcaster Stephen Clements is to be held in Belfast next Tuesday, 14 January. The service for the BBC Radio Ulster star will take place at Roselawn cemetery and will be open to the public. News of the death of the much-loved radio presenter was announced by the BBC on Tuesday, 07 January.
