Man Hospitalised After Masked Gang Attack During Burglary

A man has been taken to hospital after he was beaten by a masked gang wielding baseball bats during an aggravated burglary in Belfast.

The attack took place in the Woodvale Avenue area of Belfast on Wednesday November 28 between 9pm and 9.30pm.

Police have issued an appeal for witnesses to come forward.

A number of masked men entered the property, causing damage to the gate and shattering windows, before attacking the occupant with bats.

"We would ask anyone in the Woodvale Avenue area last Wednesday at around 9pm, who may have witnessed or have any information to please get in contact with police in Musgrave on 101 quoting reference number 1187 3/12/18," Detective Sergeant Maguire said.

Alternatively, information can be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, which is 100% anonymous.
