Belfast Pensioner Disturbed During Burglary

An elderly woman has been disturbed by burglars in her east Belfast home on Tuesday 04 December.

The woman was inside the property at Glencregagh Park at the time of the incident, between 5.45pm and 7.45pm.

Detectives are appealing for information following the burglary, in which the woman escaped injury.

PSNI Detective Sergeant Dane said: "It was reported the two unknown males entered a house in the area.

"It is believed that nothing was taken, as the men made off from the scene.

"Enquiries are continuing and we would appeal to anyone with any information to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference 1322 of 04 December.

Two Charged With Murdering Owen Creaney
Two people have been charged with the murder of Owen Creaney. Mr Creaney, 40, who has been described as "frail and vulnerable" by police, was found in a wheelie bin at a property in the Craigavon area on Saturday (5 July). Following the discovery, detectives arrested a man, aged 27, and a 23-year-old woman in connection with the incident.

Woman Sexually Assaulted In Omagh
Police have appealed for information after a 24-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in Omagh. The attack is thought to have happened in a walkway in the Johnston Park area between 1am and 3am on Sunday (30 November). Detectives want to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time, or who may be able to assist the investigation.

A police investigation is underway after five men were beaten with baseball bats during an aggravated burglary in Newtownabbey, which police are treating as a hate crime. The attack happened at a home in Hollybank Drive in Newtownabbey at around 8.20pm on the evening of Sunday 06 January.

NI Councillors Condemn Newtownabbey Hate Crime
Elected representatives from Northern Ireland have responded to the news of a hate crime in Newtownabbey, in which five men were attacked with baseball bats. The victims, who are all originally from Romania, were assaulted during an aggravated burglary of a house in Hollybank Drive at around 8.20pm on Sunday 06 January.

Woman Found Unconscious On Co Down Road
A woman has been found unconscious on a road in County Down. The woman, aged in her 50s, was discovered on the Sheepland Road at around 4.30am on Sunday. She was taken to hospital where she is believed to be in a serious condition.

Woman left ‘severely traumatised’ following sexual assault
Detectives in Belfast are appealing for information following a serious sexual assault in the Malone Road area of the city at the weekend. Sometime between 1am and 4am on Sunday, a woman in her early twenties was assaulted in the grounds of a church at the bottom of Chlorine Gardens leaving her in a “severely traumatised” state.

Woman, 76, Released In Connection With 1989 Murder
A 76-year-old woman, arrested this morning (24 June), in connection with the murder of a teenager 25 years ago, has been released unconditionally, police have confirmed. Caroline Graham, 19, disappeared in April 1989. She was originally from Newry but had been living with her boyfriend in Hanover Street, Portadown, at the time of her disappearance.

County Armagh security alert continues
A security alert in County Armagh is continuing. The alert follows the discovery of a mortar tube, but no device outside the Craigavon police station earlier today. St Anthony's Primary School has been closed for the day and the area surrounding the Brownlow Health Centre has been sealed off while officers search for a device.

Man remanded in custody charged with musician murder
A 27-year-old man has appeared in court on Friday charged with the murder of a local musician in Londonderry last week. Alan Luukas, of Riverview Court Apartments, John Street, in the city, is accused of killing James Gilchrist, 62, whose body was found in the River Foyle on Wednesday 28 September.

Four people arrested in connection with the murder of a GAA man in Co Londonderry in 1997 had been released pending further inquiries. Sean Brown, 61, was shot dead after being abducted by the LVF on May 12th 1997 as he left his local GAA club in Bellaghy. His body was later found with his burnt out car near Randalstown.

Woman Left Badly Shaken Following Burglary In Belfast
A woman has been left badly shaken after three masked men broke into her house in Belfast. The incident happened in the Wyndham Street area at around 8.45pm on Tuesday, 05 June. The victim was not physically hurt and the intruders made off with her mobile phone.
