Man Charged After Search In UVF Investigation Uncovers Drugs And Cash

A man has been charged after a quantity of drugs and cash were uncovered as part of an ongoing PSNI investigation into the east Belfast UVF.

The 30-year-old man was arrested by officers from the Paramilitary Crime Task Force following the search of a house.

A quantity of suspected class A and B drugs, as well as drug paraphernalia and cash have been seized.

Detective Sergeant Ricky Thompson said the man is facing charges related to drugs offences and will appear in court on Thursday 17 January.

As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

Detectives from the PSNI's Organised Crime Branch have charged a 36-year-old male with four counts of possessing a class A controlled drug and intent to supply, after police stopped and searched a car in the Hillsborough Road area of Lisburn on Saturday afternoon.

Four Charged With Drugs Offences
Four people have been charged with class A drugs offences following arrests made on Friday (30 August). Two men, aged 54 and 20, and a 42-year-old woman who are all from Liverpool, and a 35-year-old man from Antrim have been charged with the possession of Class A drugs and possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply.
