Woman Cut From Vehicle In Belfast City Centre Crash

A woman had to be cut from her car after a crash in Belfast city centre on Monday afternoon, 07 January.

Emergency services were called to the Union Street area shortly before 4pm after reports of a two-vehicle collision.

Firefighters used hydraulic cutting equipment to rescue the woman, aged in her 30's, from one of the vehicles.

Two patients were taken by ambulance to the Royal Victoria Hospital following initial assessment and treatment at the scene.

A spokesperson for the fire service confirmed the incident had been dealt with by 4.22pm.

Appeal After North Belfast Assault
Police are appealing for information after a report that two men were assaulted in north Belfast on Sunday evening while attempting to rob a house in the area. The incident occurred at around 7pm in Boyd Street on 07 April when the two men forced entry to a property while armed with a knife and a gun.
