Weather Warning Issued For Risk Of Ice In NI

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for Northern Ireland for later today, 16 January, as well as Thursday.

Icy patches are expected to develop this evening, prompting the warning which is active from 10pm through to 11am tomorrow.

Wintry showers can also be anticipated, mainly over hills and mountains, but also to some lower levels at times.

The Met Office is urging the public to take care due to the possibility of slips and falls on icy surfaces, as well as ice on untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.

Some roads and railways are likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services expected.
