£1,000 Stolen From Pensioner's Home

A pensioner in Larne has lost £1000 after an unknown male targeted her at her home in Larne.

The money was stolen from the 102-year-old woman on Wednesday 30 January.

A male, believed to be in his 40's, wearing a fleece and a blue yacht cap knocked on the back door of her property in a small estate close to Magheramorne House.

The lady was home alone at the time and opened the door, allowing the culprit to enter.

After demanding her pension, a sum which is believed to be around £1000, the suspect left via the front door.

The PSNI are hunting the male and have appealed for anyone who was in the area or who was driving along the Shore Road at Magheramore to check their dash cam footage for any suspicious behaviour.

Anyone with any information which may be of use to the investigation is urged to contact Detectives in Ballymena CID quoting reference number 1019 of 30/01/19.
