Man Charged Over Ian Ogle's Murder

A 33-year-old man has been charged with the murder of east Belfast community worker Ian Ogle.

The defendant, Jonathon Brown from Belfast, appeared at Belfast Magistrates' Court this morning, Friday 08 December.

He is due to appear again next month.

Mr Ogle died after he was brutally attacked on the night of Sunday 27 January at the entrance to Cluan Place in the east of the city, just yards from his home.

He died of his injuries which included 11 stab wounds and a fractured skull.

Mr Brown was the 14th person arrested in relation to the killing but is the only person to have been charged.

A 56-year-old man has appeared in court Scotland charged with conspiring to commit acts of terrorism and plots to murder ex-UDA members. John Gorman, from Irvine, is the sixth person to appear in connection with the charges. He also faces charges related to a plan to murder Johnny Adair and Samuel McCrory.

Second Person Charged Over Templepatrick Murder
A second man has appeared in court charged with the murder of Antrim father of four Geoffrey Kerr. The accused, 50-year-old Martin Thomas Fleming from Churchill Road, Larne, was remanded in custody until later this month. A detective, appearing before Larne Magistrates Court, said he believed he could connect the accused to the charge.
