Man Charged In Limavady Murder Probe

Police have charged a man with murder following the death of a 23-year-old man, four days after he was assaulted.

Darren McGurk was attacked in a house in the Glenbeg Walk area of Limavady last Wednesday, 20 March. He sustained a serious head injury which led to his death on Sunday morning.

A 32-year-old man was initially arrested and charged with grievous bodily harm but has since been charged with murder.

He is also accused of attempting to pervert the course of justice, and will appear before Coleraine Magistrates Court today, Monday 25 March.

Detectives are hoping to piece together Darren's movements in the hours before the assault. Anyone who was in touch with him last Wednesday is urged to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 901 of 21/03/2019.

Three men were sentenced for offences linked to a drugs and money laundering operation in the Ballymena area yesterday, 31 January. At Antrim Crown Court, Troy Carley (27), Neil Lowry (30) and Marc Mitchell (32) were sentenced for a number of offences.

Four Charged In Connection With Blake Newland Murder
Four people are due to appear before Ballymena Magistrates' Court charged in connection with the murder of 17-year-old Blake Newland. The Limavady teenager died after being found with serious stab wounds at a house in the town on Friday, 02 February. Detectives investigating the murder, have now charged two men, aged 27 and 29, with murder.

Police Investigating Man's Death Following Ballynahinch Collision
The PSNI have launched an investigation into the circumstances leading to the death of an elderly man following a collision in Ballynahinch. It it understood that police were called at approximately 4.10pm on Monday 08 April, to reports of the "sudden death"of an elderly man at a quarry in the Newcastle Road area of Seaforde.
