Flybe Cancels Belfast Flights

Flybe has cancelled a number of flights in and out of Belfast City Airport today, Wednesday 03 April.

Five departures and five arrivals have so far been affected, with the airline citing a combination of factors including seasonality, pilots' end of leave year, Easter holidays and a shortage of pilots across the industry as reasons.

Airports across the rest of the UK have also been affected, with over 20 flights cancelled.

Passengers received texts and emails on Tuesday evening telling them of the cancellations. They are advised to either re-book for an alternative flight or apply for a full refund.

Flybe has issued a statement of apology to all affected customers, and said: "We are doing our best to mitigate the impact of the current situation. We have already identified several mitigation actions and will be issuing further updates throughout the day."

Customers are advised to regularly check the airline's website for more details.
