Loganair Takes Over Two Flybe Routes

Scottish airline Loganair is to take over two former Flybe routes from Belfast City Airport.

The flights to Aberdeen and Inverness will commence later this month and run on a daily basis, the airport has announced.

Flybe entered administration early this morning, 05 March, with all flights cancelled across the UK. The airline was the airport's largest operator with 14 routes to the UK.

Negotiations to find replacement airlines for the remaining flights are ongoing with a "strong demand" for the former Flybe network, Belfast City Chief Brian Ambrose has said.

The Loganair route to Aberdeen will commence on Monday 16 March, and the Inverness route one week later, at a lead fare one-way cost of £49.99.

Mr Ambrose commented: "We are pleased to announce that our current airline partner Loganair has confirmed it will commence daily services from Belfast City Airport to both Aberdeen and Inverness.

"These are two of the popular destinations that were previously operated by Flybe.

"We're very happy that Loganair has been able to backfill these routes less than 24 hours after Flybe entered administration.

"There remains a strong demand for the network operated by Flybe and we expect further announcements from airlines in the coming days and weeks."
