Police Investigate As Car Crashes Into West Belfast Apartments

Police are probing a single-vehicle collision which saw a car end up lodged in the side of an apartment block in west Belfast.

A Renault Clio was discovered in the brickwork of a residential premises at Riverside Mews, Suffolk Road in the early hours of Sunday morning, 31 March.

Police are searching for the driver and have appealed to anyone who witnessed the crash to contact them.

"Any ideas as to who the dangerous and reckless individual responsible for this might be?" a spokesperson asked on the PSNI's Facebook page.

"Perhaps you may have witnessed persons in or around the area at that time? Or maybe you have captured dash cam footage of this incident which we could have a look at? Obviously our forensic colleagues will be helping us with our investigation but if you have any information which may assist us further, please contact Woodbourne Police by calling 101 and quote serial 331 of 31/03/19.

"Thankfully nobody was killed or seriously injured as a result of this incident....it could have been a much different story though. We appreciate any help you might be able to offer!"
