Police Warn Charity Box Thief To Come Forward

Police in Craigavon have issued a strong warning to the man responsible for stealing a charity collection box to come forward before his picture is circulated on social media.

The thief was caught on CCTV in the Golden Treasure Chinese on the Gilpinstown Road at around midnight on Wednesday evening, 03 April.

After collecting his food, the man stole a charity box from the counter which contained a sum of money intended to help those in need.

Police have since warned the culprit to hand himself in before the "nice clear picture of his face" is shared online.

A spokesperson said: "Was this you? If it was phone 101 and quote the crime reference number 931 04/04/19 or call into your local police station and own up. If not this very clear image of your face will make it on to social media as part of Op Exposure for all our followers to see."

Anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the theft or knows who is responsible is also urged to call 101.
