Belfast City Marathon: Race & Travel Info
The largest single participatory sporting event in Northern Ireland is set for a massive year of change with a brand new, flatter and faster route for marathon participants, a new marathon start location on the grounds of the iconic Stormont Estate and a historic move to a Sunday for the first time ever.
Taking place on Sunday 05 May 2019, the Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon returns in 2019 with a full line up of events to suit all levels of fitness including the Marathon and Wheelchair Race, the Team Relay, 8 Mile Walk and Fun Run, all with brand new improved routes.

Planning ahead with your travel for Sunday 5th May 2019? Together with our partners Belfast City Council and Translink, we are providing the following free parking and transport options.
FREE PARKING
Parking in Stormont – There are over 2,300 FREE parking spaces available at the start line within the Stormont Complex. If you intend to park in or around the Stormont area, please use this facility and enter via Stoney Road – follow signage and the directions of the stewards. DO NOT block or park in the residential areas nearby.
Please note the Upper Newtownards Road from the Stormont Entrance will close from around 8.00am to facilitate traffic management solutions for the start of the event. Access will be from the Dundonald side ONLY.
Parking around Ormeau Park/Finish Area – FREE parking will be available in the following carparks;
• A - Belfast City Council Car Park, Raphael Street - 250 spaces approx. • B - Belfast City Council Car Park, Ormeau Avenue - 90 spaces approx. • C - Queens PEC Car Park, Botanic Park - 120 spaces approx. • D - Dunnes Stores Car Park, Annadale Embankment, Belfast - 120 spaces approx.

The Asia Supermarket are providing parking opportunities at 40 Ormeau Embankment. This will be £10 for the day and you'll also receive a voucher to spend in the supermarket. Open 0800-18.30 (7 days a week). www.asiabelfast.com

The Following Transport Is Free To Participants And Spectators
• Getting to the start line - a shuttle bus will be available from Belfast City Hall (outside SS Moore's) to the Start Line between 07.00am and 08.00am. • Spectators getting from the Start Line to the Finish Line – there will be a shuttle bus available from the Massey Avenue entrance of Stormont to take spectators to the Finish Line. • Getting back to Belfast City Centre or Stormont – a shuttle bus will take participants and supporters from the Finish Line at Ormeau Park back to Belfast City Centre. This service will run until 4:30pm. There will then be a shuttle bus available from SS Moore's for participants and spectators going to Stormont. This service will run until 5pm.
TEAM RELAY TRANSPORT
The Following Transport Is Free To Team Relay Participants
Leg A – Stormont (Start) to Ormeau Park
A shuttle bus will be available from Belfast City Hall (outside SS Moore's) to the Start Line from 07.00am to 08.00am.
Leg B – Ormeau Park to Boucher Road
Runners will make their own way to Ormeau Park and transport will NOT be available to this point.
Leg C – Boucher Road to Falls Road
Transport will leave Annadale Embankment 8.00am – 9.00am.
Leg D – Falls Road to Duncairn Gardens
Transport will leave Annadale Embankment 8.30am – 9.15am.
Leg E – Duncairn Gardens to Ormeau Park (Finish)
Transport will leave Annadale Embankment 9.30am – 10.30am.
Return transport for Relay runners to Ormeau Embankment will be available from relay changeover points: Boucher Road, Falls Road and Duncairn Gardens.
DROP OFF POINT
Are you planning on getting a lift to Stormont? This could be through family and friends, taxi or perhaps your running club has hired transport to get you to the start.
Please ensure you are dropped off via the Stoney Road entrance before 8am (location of free car parking) at Stormont as there will be no vehicle access permitted outside of this.
