Family Escapes Harm In Moneymore Arson Attack

A family of five have managed to escape harm after an arson attack outside their home in Moneymore, County L'Derry early this morning.

A car parked outside a house in Conyngham Street was deliberately set alight at around 3.30am, destroying the vehicle and also causing damage to the property.

A couple and their three children were inside at the time but were uninjured.

Detective Sergeant Robinson said: "We are working to establish a motive for this attack and would like to hear from anyone with information. Detectives can be contacted at Mid Ulster CID offices, Cookstown by calling 101, quoting reference 149 29/04/19."

Information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, which is 100% anonymous.

Three cars have been destroyed following an arson attacked at the house of a serving police officer in Larne. Three cars were set on fire outside the property on the Glenarm Road shortly before 1.45am on Thursday, 29 April. The officer, his wife and daughter were in the house at the time but were not physically harmed.

An elderly man has escaped unharmed after an arson attack on his County Tyrone home involving two wheelie bins. The incident occurred at a residential premises in the Beechway area of Cookstown in the early hours of Sunday 09 December, with police receiving the report shortly before 3.45am.

Series Of Search Operations Conducted In Claudy And L'Derry
The PSNI's Serious Crime Branch have carried a number of search operation in Claudy and L'Derry as part of an ongoing investigation into dissident republican activity. As a result of the searches, in the Learmount Road area of Claudy and the Currynierin area of L'Derry, a number of items were seized and removed for further forensic examination.
