Five Arrested In Belfast Drug Seizure

Five people have been arrested in connection with a heroin seizure in Belfast.

A total of 109 wraps of suspected heroin, worth an estimated £2,700, were seized during a "pro-active police operation by the Belfast District Support Team" in Sprucefield and Belfast on the evening of Sunday, 09 June.

It is understood that the operation was launched after officers "noted some people acting suspiciously in the Sprucefield area of Lisburn".

Four men and one woman were arrested during the operation and have since been charged with a range of drug importation, possession and supply offences. They will appear at Belfast Magistrates court this morning, Tuesday 11 June.

Hostage rescued during foiled money heist
The police have foiled an attempt to steal a “substantial” amount of money from a security firm and rescued a hostage during a dramatic undercover police operation in County Down. Five men have been arrested as a result of an extensive undercover operation which lasted 16 hours.

Police arrest 18 people in crackdown on heroin
Drugs Squad officers have arrested a total of 18 people in one of the most significant operations mounted against heroin dealers in Northern Ireland. The swoop codenamed ‘Operation Galiot’ involved overnight searches in Ballymena and south Belfast on 28 February.
