Arrest Over West Belfast Shooting

A 39-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting in west Belfast.

The incident on the Springfield Road on Monday evening, 22 July, saw the victim targeted as he left a chip shop. He was chased and shot by the gunman a number of times.

The man was arrested in west Belfast on Tuesday and taken to Musgrave Serious Crime Suite for questioning.

It is understood the victim remains in hospital after he was initially reported to be in critical condition.

Anyone who witnessed the shooting or may have dash cam footage is urged to contact detectives on 101 quoting reference number 1885 of 22/07/19. Information can also be provided anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

PSNI Appeal For Information About West Belfast Shooting
The PSNI have appeal for witnesses to or any one with any information about a shooting incident in west Belfast on Wednesday night. A man was shot in the leg at Creeslough Gardens at around 21:30 on Wednesday night. It is understood that victim is in his 40s and his injuries are not life threatening.

Malcolm McKeown: Police Make One Arrest
Detectives probing the fatal shooting of Malcolm McKeown outside a Co Down petrol station have arrested a man in his twenties. Mr McKeown, aged 54, was found dead in his car outside Dewart's Garage in Waringstown on Monday 19 August. He had been shot six times. The suspect, aged 26, has been taken to Musgrave Station for questioning.

Man Arrested In Co Tyrone Over Fatal Shooting In Dublin
A 46-year-old man has been arrested in Strabane, Co Tyrone, over a fatal shooting in Dublin. Police arrested the man on Monday, 05 September, using a European Arrest Warrant. It is believed the arrest is in connection with the murder of David Byrne, 33, who was killed in the Regency Hotel on 05 February.
