Four Bikes Stolen From Portrush Properties
Police have received reports of the theft of four road bicycles from Portrush.
The bikes were taken from two different properties in the Eglinton Street area on Sunday 04 August.
One beige-coloured Mango branded fixed gear bike was taken. It has a brown saddle, brown handlebars and gator skin black tyres and wheels.
Two ladies silver/turquoise road bikes were also reported as stolen, one Apollo brand, the other brand unknown.
One mens blue/silver road bike was also taken during the spate of bike thefts, along with three bike helmets, the brand of which are unknown.
Anyone with information on the thefts or on the whereabouts of the items is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference numbers 761 of 04/08/19 and 2189 of the same date.
Game Of Thrones Author To Visit Co Down For Q&A
The famed writer of hugely successful fantasy series Game of Thrones, George R.R. Martin will visit Northern Ireland this month for a Q&A session.
Organised by the National Trust, the event will be held at Castle Ward, a filming location for Winterfell and hosted by broadcaster and mega-fan Ed Finn.
The intimate audience will have the opportunity to listen as George shares his experiences of creating the world of Westeros and beyond before immersing themselves in an illuminated procession on the King's Road to Winterfell.
Fully dressed for the occasion in the Stark cloaks provided, guests will tuck into a medieval feast including hog roast in celebration of George's arrival. Music will be provided by the Molly Maguire band while the audience hear tales of the filming by the fire in the surrounds of the original home of the Stark family.
Limited tickets for the event on Wednesday 21 August are available at a cost of £85 per person. Click here for further details and to book your place.
Road Works Announced In Downpatrick
A series of road works are set to take place in Downpatrick starting next week.
This £300,000 scheme will see upgrades delivered on the Killough Road / St Patrick's Avenue / Stream Street junction, known as Collins Corner.
A new footway will be developed on Killough Road, along with a left turn lane from Pound Lane, an upgrade to the existing traffic signal equipment and the introduction of a one way traffic system on Stream Street from the junction towards Racecourse Hill.
These works are being delivered to help improve traffic progression through the junction.
Work will begin on 12 August and run until November.
A number of off peak road and lane closures will be in place throughout to facilitate the work.
Diversions will be clearly signposted and pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following the theft of three quad bikes and a quad trailer in the Magherafelt area last week. On Tuesday 5th March police received reports that a Dark Green Suzuki King 750CC Quad and a Red 2022 4x4 quad had been taken from two neighbouring properties in the Quilly Road area of Moneymore.

Appeal Following Fatal Collision On Curr Road
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a fatal road traffic collision on Tuesday, 05 march between Omagh and Ballygawley. Shortly before 7.25pm on Tuesday evening, police received a report of a collision on the Curr Road involving a white BMW 320 and blue Scania lorry.
