Arrests Over Armoy Attempted Murder

Police have arrested four men on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was seriously assaulted and struck by a car in Armoy, County Antrim.

The 48-year-old victim was targeted outside a pub on Main Street shortly after 1am on Sunday morning, 18 August. He was left with serious injuries to his head and face.

Following the assault, a car was deliberately driven up onto the footpath, striking the injured male.

Police say a number of bystanders were also assaulted by the four suspects who then fled the area in a vehicle.

The car was subsequently located on the Coolkeeran Road in Ballymoney at around 2.20am. Police searched the area and found the males hiding in nearby gardens.

Detective Sergeant Wallace said: "This was a vicious and violent attack and the victim has been left with some serious injuries, including some to his head and face. I am appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have caputred footage, whether on dashcam, CCTV or mobile phone, to get in touch with us by calling 101, quoting reference 115 18/08/19."

PSNI Name Kilkeel Murder Victim As Bobbie McKee
The PSNI's Major Investigation Team have named the man who was murdered in Kilkeel on Thursday, 21st March as Bobbie McKee. Mr McKee, who was 69-years-old, was pronounced dead after his body was located in a property in the Newcastle Road area last Thursday afternoon following a report of a concern for safety for a couple.

Appeal Issued After Spate Of Robberies In Coleraine
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a number of report of thefts in the Coleraine area. Police received a report that overnight on Friday, 24 February, someone had gained to a property in the Knockaduff Road area, taking away a scrambler motorbike and helmets.

PSNI Identify Body Recovered From Lough Neagh
A body recovered in a coastline area of Lough Neagh on Sunday 18th February has been identified as Alan Whiteside. The 33-year-old Mr Whiteside was reported missing to police in Antrim on Sunday, 17 December. PSNI Detective Inspector Lenaghan said that Mr Whiteside was identified following a post-mortem examination.

Appeal After Masked Men Force Entry Into Home Of Elderly Man
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information after five masked me forced entry into the home of an man aged in his 70s, on the Saintfield Road. Police received a report shortly before 11.30pm on Saturday, 17th February that between 10pm and 10.30pm on the same evening, five masked men entered a house in the Saintfield Road area.

Former City Centre Police Station To Become New 74-Bedroom Hotel
A former police station in Belfast city centre is to be redeveloped for a new 74-bedroom hotel. Belfast City Council's Planning Committee approved the development on Queen Street, along with granting Listed Building Consent to bring the building into use again.
