Pensioner Dies In Co L'Derry Collision

An elderly woman has died after she was struck by a motorcycle in Co L'Derry on Thursday.

Police said the collision occurred at around 5.50pm on the Drumrane Road in Limavady.

The woman, aged in her 90s, was walking on the road when she was struck. She died at the scene.

The motorcyclist was taken to hospital for his injuries, and is in critical but stable condition.

Police are investigating the collision and have appealed for anyone who witnessed or may have captured dash cam footage of the incident to contact them using non-emergency line 101.

Renewed Appeal For Help Tracing Paula Elliott
The PSNI have issued a fresh appeal for help in tracing the whereabouts of Paula Elliott, who was last seen on Tuesday, 05 March. The 52-year-old was last seen on CCTV cameras leaving the Sprucefield Court area of Lisburn at 5.30pm, before making her way to Warren Gardens at around 5.36pm.

PSNI Reveals Figures On Mass Speeding Operation
New figures from the PSNI show the number of drivers caught speeding in one day in Northern Ireland as part of a major operation. Police carried out vehicle check points, speed checks and proactively patrolling as part of a Service Wide proactive Roads Policing Operation focusing on speeding (OP Lifesaver) and pedestrian safety (Op Safer steps).
