Shot Fired At West Belfast Flat

A man and woman have escaped injury after a shot was fired through the front door of their west Belfast flat.

The property in Cherry Walk, Dunmurry was targeted on Thursday night, 26 September.

The shot rang out at around 9pm, damaging the glass panel of the door.

Two men who are believed to have been involved made off on foot in the direction of Chestnut Park.

The male and female occupants, both aged in their 20s, were uninjured.

Police have condemned the attack. Detective Sergeant Fairfield said: "This was a reckless attack and we are fortunate the occupants of the property were not injured.

"We are working to establish a motive for the attack, and appealing to anyone who was in the area around this time and saw any suspicious activity, including any persons or vehicles, to get in touch with detectives at Musgrave on 101, quoting reference number 1994 of 26/09/19."
